SITUATION
A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING AND DESIGN FIRM WAS HIRED TO ASSESS OUR FACILITIES. THEIR WRITTEN REPORT CONFIRMED:

Both the church and community center facilities are continuing to rapidly deteriorate

The buildings are both very energy inefficient

Both buildings have multiple levels of staircases and accessibility is challenging especially to the elderly and people with mobility needs

The heating and electrical infrastructure needs to be technically modernized

The church, which was originally built as an Elks club, is in disrepair and needs to be aesthetically renovated

For more than a century, Dormition Church has been the spiritual home for four generations of Greek-Americans, several waves of Greek immigrants who sought refuge in this country, and many others who have sought out the faith and heritage of the Greek Orthodox Church.
Looking to our future, we are working to renew our community both by increasing our ministerial impact and by renovating our sanctuary and facilities, which are in need of repair.
As the pastor of this community I firmly believe that with God’s Grace and your help we can accomplish the goals of this capital campaign, and our community will thrive as a joyous and blessed people of God.
